Xerox recently announced two new optional capabilities for their iGen 5 series: the extra-long sheet (XLS) and Fluorescent Yellow Dry Ink. These new enhancements help expand printers’ applications and increase press productivity.
The iGen 5 XLS enables up to a 35-inch sheet size, comes with improved production feeding and stacking and also prints at rated speed. Now, printers can deliver more pieces per sheet and increase application productivity up to 25 percent.
The versatility of the iGen 5 is especially helpful for print providers who can offer additional applications such as banners, 4-panel brochures, large-format clings, book covers, and even panoramic artwork.
The fluorescent yellow dry ink allows printers to run stunning colors of yellow, orange, green and blue as well as white and clear. Xerox managed to develop new capabilities that allow printers to push past the boundaries of commodity print, without sacrificing productivity or quality.
These expanded color capabilities enable print providers to offer a distinct selection of spot and flood effects, photo and color enhancements and watermarks. Specially formulated to glow under UV light, this ink also provides optionality for high-value jobs.
According to Tracey Koziol, senior vice president of Global Offerings at Xerox, these enhancements are designed to increase the versatility, productivity and scalability of the iGen 5. Coupled together, they make the iGen 5 the most versatile digital color production, cut-sheet press available in the market today.
